Chibombo School Feeding Initiative

The Chibombo School Feeding Initiative was recently established by Justice Minister Princess Kasune to support over 230 local schools with essential nutrition.

This government-led program aligns with national goals to improve student health and ensure consistent academic attendance

Local leaders emphasized that providing meals is crucial now, as free education policies have caused a massive surge in student enrollment figures.

To keep the program viable, schools are being encouraged to start their own agricultural production units to grow supplemental food.

Funding totaling K4.5 million has already been allocated to secure necessary staples like beans and maize for the upcoming term.

Students have already noted that these efforts significantly improve their ability to concentrate during lessons.
