LUSAKA, ZAMBIA - President Hakainde Hichilema met with ABSA Group CEO Kenny Finla and his delegation at State House this afternoon to discuss ways to strengthen the partnership between the government and the private sector.

The President emphasized the need for continued collaboration to drive Zambia's economic growth agenda, particularly in diversifying the country's energy portfolio and promoting agro-processing.

"We appreciate ABSA's efforts so far, but we urge them to do more to support our economic growth plans," President Hichilema said.

The President also called on ABSA to make capital more affordable, citing the country's macro-economic stability and fiscal discipline.

"With affordable interest rates, we can boost sectors like manufacturing, mining, agriculture, and tourism, creating jobs and opportunities for our people," he said.
